Our provider GreenGeeks launched a new Anycast-based global DNS platform earlier this year.
Anycast is a routing technique that allows multiple backend servers to share a single IP address, reducing query time and adding redundancy in the event of a server or network failure.
GreenGeeks plans to shut down our Legacy DNS infrastructure on September 30, 2023.
In preparation for this change, on August 30, 2023, GreenGeeks adjusted all domains to internally point to the Anycast DNS platform and encouraged all customers to update their external domain name servers accordingly.
Update the domain name servers to the GreenGeeks Anycast platform.
Log in to your domain registrar and update the name servers for all domains to the following: GreenGeeks Anycast Name Servers:
ns1.greengeeks.net
ns2.greengeeks.net
Note: The above change is only for domains that are NOT registered through our provider Greengeeks (e.g. .SR domains or domains from NetSol / Dotster, etc). DNS Routing from your internet provider can take 24-48 hours, so please make the referral well in advance. If this change applies to your domain, you will receive an email with instructions from our support team between September 15-18.
